Meet the Farmers

El Berima was built by hand, by heart, and by a shared belief that the land has something important to teach us.

Slim

Founder & Head Farmer

Slim grew up watching his grandfather tend the land and never forgot the feeling. After years working in the city, he returned to his roots β€” literally β€” and founded El Berima with a clear vision: reconnect Tunisians with their agricultural heritage and show a new generation that farming is something to be proud of.

He leads every workshop with patience, humour, and a depth of knowledge that only comes from years of working the soil. Ask him about permaculture, heirloom Tunisian seeds, companion planting, or the best time to plant tomatoes β€” he will talk for hours and you will not want him to stop.

Amira is the heartbeat of everything educational at El Berima. With a background in child development and a lifelong passion for environmental education, she designs the workshop programs, welcomes school groups, and makes sure every visitor β€” young or old β€” leaves with something new.

She believes that the best learning happens with your hands in the soil and a smile on your face. Watch her run a Tataki-Zome workshop with forty children and you will understand exactly what she means.
